There will always be children born into impoverished families in rural areas who are smart, motivated to do well in school, want to improve life for their family, and dream of going to college. It’s a tragedy when they don’t get that opportunity.
With a little support from us, these hard-working students can get a higher education and change the future for themselves, their families, and their communities. We have seen their success! They become social workers, nurses, doctors, mid-wives, teachers, agronomists, veterinarians, accountants, lawyers, managers, IT staff, and more.
Friendship with Cambodia created the Education for Low-Income Rural Youth Fund at the Oregon Community Foundation so we can continue to empower disadvantaged youth, even beyond the life of our non-profit.
The interest from this permanent fund supports students to attend university in Cambodia. Eighty percent are female because education for girls is key to ending poverty.
We invite you to support education and improve life in Cambodia by including this fund in your estate plans. This could be your legacy. What a beautiful gift to the world!
Donors have many opportunities to contribute. You may:
- include this fund in your will
- make it a beneficiary of your IRA or other financial account
- if you are over 70 ½ you can make a tax-free IRA charitable rollover through Friendship with Cambodia
- donate to the fund through Friendship with Cambodia at any time
